Looks like Oklahoma City and the Denver Nuggets made out the best. Oklahoma City was an already young and impressive team. So the addition of Perk and Robinson added some much needed experience and a big low post presence. The Celtics are struggling down the stretch right now. But a wave of injuries have been halting the C’s. But they also went 24-24 after the 09-10 All-Star Break and still made it to the Finals. Coming seconds from a game 7 victory in LA. So I’d say it’s not worth worrying about the C’s just yet. I’d have to say that the biggest surprise is the Denver Nuggets. They trade away their franchise player and a USA Olympian for 3 young players. However these 3 young players are really talented, and probably doing much more for this team than expected. The Nuggets are sitting in 5th place in a very good Western Conference. They have clinched a playoff berth and are looking at a first round match-up with the fourth seeded OKC Thunder.

HaHa 0-3. How is it even possible to win the division already 3 games back of the Orioles and Yankees? Well the pitching hasn’t been there. The offense has shown its moments of its unbelievable potential. Some people are blaming Saltalamacchia. Saying there is no chemistry between him and the pitchers yet. The Red Sox staff is overrated. It’s way to early to speculate anything. The Sox hitters are way too good to not win them games. The pitching staff will come around. Or will they? Read More

The Bruin’s victory over the Eastern Conference Leading Philadelphia Flyer’s Sunday night clinched them a berth in the 2010-2011 Wales Conference Post-Season. The Flyer’s had been unbeaten in regulation in their last 9 games. No easy task to knock these guys off the top spot with their all around depth and scoring. The Bruin’s are 3-0-1 against the Flyer’s this year, and Timmy Thomas is 10-2-2 in his career against them.Brad Marchand notched his 20th goal of the season on the power play to put the B’s up with less than 4 minutes to go in the game. It was his first goal in 13 games. The Bruin’s power play seems like it’s starting to click. They went 2 for 3 on the man advantage Sunday with tallies from Horton and Marchand. And have scored on 4 of their last 15 power plays, 26.7% efficiency. Read More

March Madness

by Zach

The greatest part of March all happens within the last few weeks. The weather gets nicer. St. Patty’s day kicks off the Men’s basketball tourney. All is right with the world. I love this shit. I got like 12 brackets on every friggin site I could find. Here is one I made for the greatest blogging website in the world.

Yeah I got our boy Paul Pierce’s Alma Mater taking it all. Beating the freshman sensation Jared Sullinger and OSU. Here’s a blank bracket for anyone who wants to print it out.

After a great 7 game win streak that stuck the B’s firmly into second place and only 2 points behind the Eastern Conference leading Flyers, a 4 game slide has got the Bruin’s fighting for more than just home ice advantage. The Montreal Canadiens have been creeping up on the Bruin’s heels as of late behind the spectacular goaltending of Carey Price. Price is giving Timmy T a run for the Vezina. Who woulda thought? Two weeks ago I called Thomas a lock to win it and now he may be second to Price in the running. Price is tied for the league lead in wins with 33. He is second in the league in shut outs with 8. One ahead of Thomas. He is 5th in the league in save percentage. And is 6th in goals against average. Thomas still leads the league in save percentage and goals against average, but Price also leads the league in minutes in the crease. His 3,620 minutes in net has him far ahead of the second place net minder. I still have high hopes for Thomas and the B’s turning this late season slump around. Timmy needs to get his game together as well as the Bruin’s who have really been letting him down as of late. Thomas is making the timely saves but the Offense can’t find the back of the net. Post image for NHL Eastern Conference Round Up

I cannot and will not say that there are 3 teams most likely to make it to Stanley Cup Finals from the Eastern Conference. The NHL is nothing like the NBA where it is dominated by the front runners. The top spot in the East and 5th place is separated by 2 games, 4 points. The gap from the top 5 down to the eighth seed is 10 points. So yeah, there is a definite gap. The top 5 are all battling and the next 5 are all battling for the final three spots at the gates of Lord Stanley’s Playoffs. Read More
