Looks like Oklahoma City and the Denver Nuggets made out the best. Oklahoma City was an already young and impressive team. So the addition of Perk and Robinson added some much needed experience and a big low post presence. The Celtics are struggling down the stretch right now. But a wave of injuries have been halting the C’s. But they also went 24-24 after the 09-10 All-Star Break and still made it to the Finals. Coming seconds from a game 7 victory in LA. So I’d say it’s not worth worrying about the C’s just yet. I’d have to say that the biggest surprise is the Denver Nuggets. They trade away their franchise player and a USA Olympian for 3 young players. However these 3 young players are really talented, and probably doing much more for this team than expected. The Nuggets are sitting in 5th place in a very good Western Conference. They have clinched a playoff berth and are looking at a first round match-up with the fourth seeded OKC Thunder.

March Madness

by Zach

The greatest part of March all happens within the last few weeks. The weather gets nicer. St. Patty’s day kicks off the Men’s basketball tourney. All is right with the world. I love this shit. I got like 12 brackets on every friggin site I could find. Here is one I made for the greatest blogging website in the world.

Yeah I got our boy Paul Pierce’s Alma Mater taking it all. Beating the freshman sensation Jared Sullinger and OSU. Here’s a blank bracket for anyone who wants to print it out.

Post image for NBA Eastern Conference Front Runners

Let’s be honest, how many teams in the Eastern Conference have a legitimate chance to make it to the NBA Finals? If you ask me, the answer is 3. The third team is not the one that you may be thinking of. Obviously the Celtics are the team to beat in the East, and with their newly added pieces – they look to rest starters as much as possible leading into the playoffs. The spectacular play of Jeff Green and Nenad Kristic has made all the nay sayers shut their mouths by now. With Nate Robinson out indefinitely for 4-6 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, and Perk’s mediocre play lately, looks like the Celtics are the clear winners in that trade.

Post image for Calm After the ‘Thunder’ Storm

Jeff Green Splits The D For A Strong Layup

I, like everyone was, in disbelief about the trade of Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson to OKC Thunder for Jeff Green and Nenad Kristic and a 2012 first rounder from the Blakers (Clippers) if you can’t keep up. The C’s also shipped the 2 Whiteys (Harangody, Erden) out of town for picks as well and Marquis Daniels went to Sacramento for some cash. This left the Celtics 3 short of a full squad.

These trades happened in rapid succession. They were outta town quicker than Ray Rays’ silky smooth release. But once again, everyone jumped down Danny Ainge’s throat too soon. Ainge knows how to put a team together. He realizes that this current squad isn’t the team of the future. They are the team of right now. And frankly thats all that really matters. The Big 3 aren’t getting younger and our O’Neal centers have been battling injuries all year. Our eye is on this years championship and then next year, Ainge will build another championship contender.

Post image for Deron Williams Traded to New Jersey Nets

The New Jersey Nets missed out on Carmelo Anthony, but they made a splash of their own Wednesday, acquiring All-Star point guardDeron Williams from the Utah Jazz in a three-team blockbuster deal.

“We are very excited to add a player the caliber of Deron Williams to our roster,” Nets GM Billy King stated in a press release Tuesday afternoon.

“He is one of the premier point guards in the NBA, and his skill and talent level will bolster our franchise as we continue to build towards our goal of becoming a championship-caliber team.” said Nets head coach, Avery Johnson.

Post image for The Heat is on; Lebron signs with Miami

Six-time All-Star, two-time league MVP LeBron James delivered both blows to his hometown Thursday night by announcing he will join Dwyane Wade and newly signed Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat.

“For me, it’s not about sharing the spotlight. It’s about players having their own spotlight,” James said during his hourlong special on ESPN.

“It’s heart-felt (leaving Cleveland). But I felt the biggest challenge for me in winning a title was moving on.”

Post image for Amar’e Stoudemire Signs With New York Nicks

Somewhere lost in the Lebron James and Chris Bosh hype, was the possibility of Amar’e Stoudemire shaking up this free agent signing period so viciously it would cause everyone to rethink everything they had just rethought. Well it appears that sentiment will come to fruition as Stat reportedly will sign a 5 yr. 100 million dollar contract to play for the New York Knicks. Stoudemire will be reunited with former Suns head coach Mike D’Antoni who has coached the Knicks without much success the last two seasons.
